The glass bottles can be painted, cut, coated, broken, melted and kneaded to form various kinds of decorative objects. Today we’re going to show you some examples to inspire you.
Craft models with glass bottle
There are many artisanal ways to make with glass bottles. It is important to look for lots of references and see the videos with the correct techniques. To make this work easier, we separate the main references of handicrafts with glass bottles:
Glass bottle vase
Creating a vase is one of the quickest and most practical alternatives to using it with a glass bottle. If your preference is for flowers, one option is to create holes in the bottle to style it in a different way.

In this proposal, the dark bottle became a vessel that was given a white color and delicate fabric at its base.

Crushed glass bottle (melted)
This type of bottle is certainly more complex to make as it requires a special oven to heat the bottles to a high temperature. Over time they become deformed and get that “wrinkled” aspect. At the end of the post we have the video that explains how this process is done.

Painted glass bottle
Glass bottles can be painted to make beautiful illustrations and colorful designs. The inks you can use are:
- Latéx (PVA) inks for handicrafts;
- Water-based enamel paint;
- Acrylic paint;
- Spraying;
- Stained glass (to leave the colored bottle)
